Dedication
to the Community
As evidence of their close ties to the community, the Suzio York Hill Companies are actively involved in local affairs. The firm donated concrete for the flagpoles at Ceppa Field and Castle Craig and each year supplies the concrete blocks for the Durham Fair horse pull.
Through the years, they have supported a variety of Central Connecticut organizations and programs. In a special way, they provide support to the Meriden and Greater New Haven YMCAs, the Meriden YWCA, the Shoreline Association for the Retarded and Handicapped, Park Friends of New Haven, the Meriden Girls’ and Boys’ Clubs, various diocesan schools and the American Silver Museum.
Suzio York Hill donated funds and materials to Gaylord Hospital for a handicapped training course. The company received an award of appreciation for continued support of the Jewish Home for the Aged in New Haven.
Most recently, the company supplied materials to construct a facility for handicapped fishermen at Black Pond in Middlefield. The firm also quarried a 15-ton block of stone which became a monument to honor the Meriden men and women who served in Vietnam.
